How it works in one line
No complicated local scripts or JSON configs. Three steps to connect your tools once launched.
Add the URL
Paste heypapin.com/mcp into your MCP client settings. No local dependencies required.
Authorize Once
Your client securely authenticates with your HeyPapin account. Your whiteboard diagrams remain strictly private to you.
Agent Reads Board
Ask your agent: “Read my HeyPapin whiteboard on Database Sharding and implement it.” The agent immediately understands the architecture.
Understanding before coding
Why visual whiteboards and coding agents belong together.
The visual whiteboard where you learn complex ideas. Papin draws step-by-step, explains aloud, lets you interrupt mid-drawing, and tests your intuition. You leave with genuine clarity.
In your IDE or coding agent, you write the software. With MCP, your agent pulls the verified blueprint from your whiteboard session so you never have to re-explain the theory.
Tools available to your agent
Standard tools exposed to AI models for extracting whiteboard blueprints and creating study sessions.
| Tool | Direction | Status | What It Does |
|---|---|---|---|
| get_study_summary | Whiteboard → Agent | Coming Soon | Extracts formulas, logical diagrams, and step-by-step notes from a board into markdown or schemas. |
| create_study_board | Agent → Whiteboard | Coming Soon | Sends a confusing function, error trace, or architecture topic from your editor directly to Papin for visual explanation. |
| list_study_boards | Discovery | Coming Soon | Lists your recent whiteboard sessions so agents can discover relevant topics automatically. |
The HeyPapin MCP server uses the standard Streamable HTTP protocol defined by the MCP working group. It works identically across any client: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Zed, and custom autonomous agents. Your whiteboard sessions and private notes are strictly scoped to your authenticated account.
